The Wedding, Reception and Evening do will be all held at Bolton Castle (www.boltoncastle.co.uk) The Wedding Ceremony will commence at at 1pm on Saturday 4th June 2016. We would be most grateful if you can arrive at approx. 12.30pm and be seated by 12.50pm.
Parking in the castle car park is free for wedding guests. Guests are welcome to leave their car overnight and return in the morning.
We have sole use of the Castle for the wedding so please feel free to explore all the grounds and rooms in the castle after the Ceremony.
Due to castle not having central heating, we recommend coats and umbrellas should be brought. This can be left on coat rails if not required.
There are cobbles in the courtyard, uneven surfaces and spiral staircases all over the castle, and unfortunately there are no lifts. It may be useful to bring some flatter shoes to change into. The Castle Staff recommend children are supervised due to the uneven services and steep staircases.
As there are stairs to every level we recommend that you bring babies/toddlers in baby carriers or in arms.
The Castle wedding literature also said the following “We do realise that many guests are likely to enjoy a drink or two at such a celebration. Please be aware that one’s limit is probably a glass or two less than it might be elsewhere, due to the uneven surfaces and steep spiral stairs in the castle.”
The Wedding Breakfast will not be served until 4pm so probably advisable to have an early lunch prior to the wedding at 1pm.
Please show consideration to the villagers of Bolton Castle by only parking in the Castle car park and leaving quietly at the end of the evening.
